1980 saw a single new Leyland Atlantean with East Lancs bodywork enter the fleet.

Ipswich corporation purchased its first motorbuses in 1950, these were AEC Regent III with Park Royal bodywork.

Buses 3-6 were withdrawn in 1969 with 1 & 2 being withdrawn in 1973. Bus 1 is preserved in the Ipswich Transport Museum.
